Hope Orphanage in Gleno - Feb 06

The warm, friendly and adorable Hope kids

Hope Orphanage is the only orphanage in the Ermera District and it is situated in Gleno. The orphanage was started in 17th April 2004 and there are presently 24 orphans in Hope. My friends and I visited the orphange on a weekend and we spent a night there. It was fun and relaxing. We had a great time mingling with the ever-smiling and polite children, and enjoyed the cool weather and natural surroundings. It is a very good getaway from Dili.

For the stay, we did not have to pay but we brought some food(rice, chicken etc) up and some of us made individual donations to help the orphanage. Gleno is only about an hour drive away and the road up is fairly good. For more information about the orphanage and how to get there, contact Isa or Ina at 7235298 or 7235299.
