The various water containers
Ever wonder where the piped water in East Timor come from? I finally got to see for myself. This is a water containment point in Liquica where water is treated and piped to the homes in Liquica town. Strange enough, the treated water container is not covered up and on low ground. Which means there's always a possiblity of contamination. Anyway, kudos to Japan for granting aid to this project so that the people can have access to water via pipes to their homes. However, there is definitely a need for the local authorities to improve the maintenance of the place.

Some tanks don't look too good. And the animals(in background) have found a way into the place through a broken fence. So did their feaces.
Itchy sores like this is not uncommon because of the water. A friend in Dili said she got it too.
